The 25th “Pramong Nomklao” fair

The 25th “Pramong Nomklao” fair, organised by the Fisheries Department and the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University, is showcasing more than 200 species of sea creatures. The fair will take place at the Cascata and Alive Park Hall on the ground floor of Future Park shopping centre on Phahon Yothin Road from this Friday until July 7.
Among the rare species on show are emperor angelfish, Siamese tiger fish, razorfish, spotted cardinalfish, bluespotted stingrays, red prawns, sea urchins, blackspotted puffers, freshwater butterflyfish and flagfin prawn goby fish.
The 10-day event will feature an exhibition to honour HM King Rama V under the theme “125th Anniversary of Siriraj Hospital for the Future”. Among the other highlights are a booth offering actual-sized photographs, an exhibition on fish species, breeding and fisheries, a fishery demonstration, a display of fishery tools and boats, and innovative ways to boost sea animals’ reproduction, as well as a display of several rare species.
For first time visitors can witness a crayfish championship. There is also an aquarium arrangement competition, a photo contest under the theme “My Fisherman Home” and a painting contest which offers a trophy from HRH Princess Chulabhorn. A shopping corner offers products, fish, and dishes such as soft-bone carp, carp boiled with salt, anchovies, fresh prawns in chilli paste, fish fishers, plus other activities.
