Cabomba

Cabomba species

There are 3 well used species of Cabomba aquatica, Cabomba australis and Cabomba caroliniana are the more common. Cabomba plants are effective in the water garden because of the fact that they contend with algae for the nutrients in the water and effectively reduce the quantity of algae that will be able to grow helping to keep the water clear. You do not want to fertilize them because you want them to take advantage of the excess nitrates already present in your pond.
